Privacy Policy

How Smartland Technology collects, uses and protects information you provide through this website or through direct business contact.

Last updated: October 2026

Who this policy applies to

This policy covers Smartland Technology ("we", "us") and the website at smartlandtechnology.com. It explains what information we collect from visitors and business contacts, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need in order to respond to you and to operate the website:

  • Information you submit through the contact form — your name, company name if you provide one, email address, phone number, the service you selected, and the message you write.
  • Technical information recorded with a form submission — the IP address and browser user-agent string of the submitting device. This is kept for security purposes, to identify and limit automated or abusive submissions.
  • Information you provide directly — details you share by phone, by email or during a site visit, such as site addresses, technical requirements and contact details for the people we will be coordinating with.
  • Essential website data — a session cookie required for the contact form's security protection. See our cookies policy.

We do not ask for payment card details, identity documents or any other sensitive personal information through this website.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and to discuss your requirement.
  • To prepare assessments, proposals and quotations you have asked for.
  • To deliver and support services you engage us for.
  • To protect the website against spam and automated abuse.
  • To meet any legal or regulatory obligation that applies to us.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We do not send marketing email to people who have only submitted an enquiry.

Website usage and analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4 to measure how the site is used — which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, roughly where in the world they are, and whether they reach the contact form. We use it to improve the website. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine it with the details you send through the contact form.

IP addresses are truncated before they are stored, so the full address your visit came from is not available to us. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser; the cookies policy lists them and how long they last.

The analytics script is not loaded at all if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, and blocking it in your browser or an extension does not affect any part of the site. There is no advertising, remarketing or social media tracking script on this website. If one is added, this policy and the cookies policy will be updated to describe it.

Our hosting provider may maintain standard server access logs as part of operating the service. These are used for security and troubleshooting.

Third-party services

The website loads a web font from Google Fonts, which means the font provider receives a request from your browser including your IP address. Where analytics is active, Google also receives measurement data about your visit and processes it under its own terms. Contact form notifications are delivered through our email provider. Enquiry records are held on our website hosting infrastructure. We choose providers on the basis that they handle data appropriately, and we limit what we send them to what the service requires.

If a map is embedded on our contact page, loading that page will also send a request to the map provider.

How long we keep information

Enquiries are kept for as long as we may reasonably need them for the business relationship they relate to, and for our own records afterwards. Technical information stored alongside a submission for anti-spam purposes is kept only as long as it is useful for that purpose. If you ask us to delete your enquiry and we have no continuing reason to keep it, we will do so.

Data security

The website is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are validated on the server, protected against cross-site request forgery, and rate limited. Enquiry records are stored in a database that is not reachable from a public URL, and access credentials are held outside the website's public directory. Access to enquiry records is limited to people within the business who need it.

No system can be guaranteed completely secure. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the information we hold.

Your rights

You may ask us to:

  • tell you what information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • delete information we no longer have a legitimate reason to keep;
  • stop using your information for a particular purpose.

Contact us using the details below and we will respond. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices or the services used by this website change. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised.
