Cloud Solutions in Dubai

Cloud is a set of decisions, not a destination. Smartland Technology helps businesses in Dubai decide what belongs in the cloud, move it without breaking the working day, and run it with access control and cost visibility from the outset.

The businesses that struggle with cloud are rarely the ones that moved too little. They are the ones that moved without deciding who owns identity, where data lives, how it is backed up, and what the monthly figure should look like.

We treat a cloud project as a workload-by-workload assessment. Some systems benefit immediately. Some are cheaper and faster where they are. The plan says which is which, and why.

Enterprise cloud infrastructure environment with connected systems and storage

What Cloud Solutions Cover

Cloud solutions cover hosted infrastructure and services your business uses instead of, or alongside, on-premises hardware: file storage and sharing, email and collaboration, hosted servers and applications, off-site backup, and the identity and access layer that ties them together.

The practical work is rarely the technology itself. It is deciding placement, structuring identity and permissions, planning the migration so users are not stranded mid-week, and setting up backup for data that many businesses wrongly assume the provider is already protecting.

  • Workload placement decided on merit, per system
  • Identity and access designed before data moves
  • Migration sequenced around how people actually work
  • Backup for cloud data, not an assumption that it is covered

What we deliver

Our Cloud Solutions

Practical cloud work for businesses that need it to function, not to be fashionable.

Cloud readiness assessment

A workload-by-workload review of what should move, what should stay, what needs re-platforming, and what each option means for performance, control and running cost.

Cloud infrastructure setup

Hosted servers, storage and supporting services configured with sensible sizing, network connectivity to your office, and access restricted from the first day rather than tightened later.

Cloud storage and file sharing

Structured cloud storage with a permission model that matches your departments, external sharing controls, version history and sync behaviour that does not surprise users.

Cloud migration

Staged migration of files, mailboxes and workloads with pre-migration validation, a defined cutover, and a rollback position — scheduled so the business keeps operating.

Collaboration and remote access

Shared workspaces, secure access for staff working from other sites, and connectivity between cloud services and the systems still running in your office.

Cloud backup and continuity

Independent backup of cloud-hosted data with defined retention and tested restores, plus recovery planning for the systems the business cannot pause.

Capabilities

Typical scope on a Smartland cloud engagement.

  • Workload assessment and placement planning
  • Cost and capacity estimation before commitment
  • Cloud server and storage provisioning
  • Identity, account and permission structure
  • Multi-factor authentication rollout
  • File and mailbox migration
  • Hybrid connectivity to on-premises systems
  • External sharing and data-handling controls
  • Cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-local backup
  • Retention policy and restore testing
  • Monitoring, alerting and usage review
  • User handover and documentation

Outcomes

What Changes Afterwards

Access without the workarounds

Staff working from another site, another emirate or a client office reach the same systems securely, instead of emailing files to themselves.

Capacity you can adjust

Storage and compute scale with the business rather than forcing a hardware purchase every time a team grows.

Control you can demonstrate

A defined identity and permission model means you can answer who has access to what, and change it in one place.

A continuity position that holds

Backup and recovery are configured deliberately, so a deleted mailbox or an encrypted share is a restore, not a loss.

Industries and use cases

Where This Applies

Cloud tends to earn its place fastest where teams are distributed or data volumes move quickly.

  • Professional services with mobile teams
  • Multi-branch retail and hospitality groups
  • Corporate offices consolidating file storage
  • Education and training providers
  • Logistics operations spanning several sites
  • Real estate and property management
  • Healthcare administration functions
  • Businesses opening a second Dubai location

Our process

How We Deliver Cloud Projects

Assessment first, because the wrong placement is expensive to reverse.

  1. Understand

We inventory workloads, data volumes, user locations, current licensing and the constraints that matter — performance, control and cost.

  2. Plan

A placement decision per workload, identity and permission design, migration sequence, expected running cost and the backup position for each service.

  3. Implement

Provision, configure access controls, migrate in stages with validation at each one, and confirm every dependent workflow before decommissioning anything.

  4. Support

Monitoring, restore testing, usage and cost review, and a documented environment your team can operate.

These usually come up in the same conversation. See all of our IT infrastructure services.

data storage and backup

Independent protection for cloud-hosted data and the restores that prove it works.

server solutions

For the workloads that stay on-premises in a hybrid environment.

network solutions

Cloud performance is bounded by the connectivity underneath it.

firewall solutions

Controlled access between your office, your users and cloud services.

Cloud — Frequently Asked Questions

Should we move everything to the cloud?

Rarely. Most businesses end up hybrid: collaboration and email in the cloud, some workloads kept on-site for performance, cost or dependency reasons. We assess each workload and tell you where it belongs, including when the honest answer is "leave it where it is".

Is our data automatically backed up by the cloud provider?

Do not assume so. Providers protect their own infrastructure; retention of your data after deletion, corruption or a ransomware event is a separate matter with its own limits. We configure independent backup with defined retention and test the restores.

How disruptive is a cloud migration?

Handled properly, most users notice a scheduled cutover and little else. Data is pre-staged, migration runs in stages, and the disruptive window is agreed in advance with a rollback position.

Can cloud services work alongside our existing servers?

Yes, and that is the common outcome. We plan the connectivity, identity and data flow between on-premises systems and cloud services so both sides behave as one environment.

How do we keep cloud costs predictable?

By sizing against real usage rather than headroom, reviewing consumption after go-live, and removing services that were provisioned during migration and never retired. We include a usage review rather than leaving the bill to drift.

Deciding What Belongs in the Cloud?

Start with an assessment. We will tell you what is worth moving, what is not, and what it will cost to run.
